Sun Health Corporate Office Holiday Closures

With the holidays approaching, we wanted to make everyone aware of upcoming office closings in December and January for Sun Health, Sun Health Foundation and Sun Health Senior Living. Our offices in Surprise and at Banner Boswell Medical Center will be closed on the following days:

  • Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013
  • Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013
  • New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013
  • New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014

Note that our independent living communities – Grandview Terrace and Grandview Care Center in Sun City West, La Loma Village and La Loma Care Center in Litchfield Park, and The Colonnade in Surprise maintain 24-hour support by staff and/or an emergency medical technician, as always.

While most of the nation ponders how federal health care legislation will affect them, at Sun Health this month we celebrate a nationally recognized community health program that has benefited nearly 2,000 west valley residents. In less than two years, Sun Health Care Transitions has educated individuals about healthier ways to live, developed enhanced medication regimens and prevented most participants from being readmitted to the hospital for the same illness.

Our team celebrated its second anniversary by receiving a second consecutive “Outstanding Leadership in Population Health Award” from the Care Continuum Alliance (CCA). Continue reading

SURPRISE, ARIZ. – Nov. 6, 2013 – Anniversaries are often marked by a special surprise.  For Sun Health Care Transitions, that surprise was doubly exciting.  The team celebrated its second anniversary by receiving a second consecutive “Outstanding Leadership in Population Health Award” from the Care Continuum Alliance (CCA). Representing more than 200 health companies, organizations and individual providers committed to improving the health of populations, the CCA focuses on raising care quality, improving health outcomes and reducing costs for individuals affected by chronic disease.

Health Care Partnership Delivers Excellent Patient Care, Expanded Medical Services

Excellent patient care, landmark research and innovative community programs continue to flourish, thanks to an important partnership formed five years ago between Banner Health and Sun Health. In 2008, two non-profit organizations united with one goal in mind: to enhance the health of residents living in the Northwest Valley.

Sun Health Community Education Presents Ongoing Health Talks at Sun Health and Community Locations in the West Valley for September

Arizona nonprofit Sun Health’s Community Education Series presents free ongoing health and wellness programs on a variety of health care, healthy living and personal and financial safety topics focused on seniors. Events occur several times each month at locations across the West Valley and are presented as a community service. Events with less than 10 reservations are subject to cancellation. Sun Health Launches Personalized Memory Program To Serve Patients With Dementia

arizona nonprofitSun Health has launched a Memory Care Navigator program, the newest offering in the Arizona nonprofit organization’s rapidly growing collection of community health programs.

Peoria’s Marty Finley, M.Ed. has been selected as the Sun Health Memory Care Navigator, who will provide personal and professional guidance to patients, family members and caregivers coping with the emotional, psychological and physical effects of dementia. The Navigator will prepare a plan of care individualized to their needs, and will serve as a liaison between patients and families, their physicians and ancillary community services. Michael L. Mandell Elected Chairman of the Sun Health Foundation Board of Trustees

Arizona nonprofitMichael L. Mandell has been elected as the new chairman of the Arizona nonprofit Sun Health Foundation Board of Trustees for the 2014 fiscal year beginning July 1.

Mandell, a resident of Corte Bella in Sun City West, is a retired executive who has lived in the Northwest Valley since May, 2006. He previously served as the Board’s vice chairman and as chairman of the Board’s Planned Giving Committee. Continue reading
