Employee Engagement Award
We encourage our team members to let their voices be heard, to ensure that we are keeping our commitments and maintaining our standard as a Best in Class employer, ranked two years in a row by the Avatar company. We encourage our employees to participate in a survey each year, measuring employee engagement levels, which are followed up with action plans and focus groups. Employees are also invited to share comments and suggestions at any time throughout the year.
Competitive pay and benefits
Our organization is committed to rewarding employees for the contributions they make. To ensure that our employees are competitively compensated, Sun Health completes an extensive annual wage analysis. In addition to base pay, hourly employees are eligible for a bonus each year, equaling 2% of their annual pay. Manager/Director level staff are eligible for a competitive performance based bonus plan. In addition, Full Time and Regular Part Time employees begin accruing paid time off from their very first day on the team.
At Sun Health, full time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including affordable medical coverage, FREE dental coverage for employees, affordable vision care, a flexible spending plan and more. To give our employees peace of mind, full time employees are offered FREE life insurance and other supplemental benefit options. Family plans are also available. Sun Health understands the importance of saving for retirement, and encourages all employees 21 and older to participate in a 401(k) plan and enjoy a company match of up to 2% of the employee’s earnings.
Wellness incentives – include fitness center access and classes
At Sun Health, we encourage employees to enjoy of all the wellness incentives and resources the organization has to offer. Our employee wellness program includes monthly health challenges, an online personalized wellness portal, biometric screenings, FREE employee Fitness Center access, FREE group fitness classes, and opportunities to meet one-on-one with a health coach. Incentive points can be earned by participation in these activities, and can be redeemed for great prizes throughout the year.
The Employee Association is just one of the ways Sun Health shows its gratitude for the team’s commitment to excellence. The Employee Association is a nonprofit organization that was formed in 2008 in an effort to aid employees in times of need. The concept of the organization began when an employee approached management with a request to hold a bake sale to assist with a fellow employee’s medical bills. Employees came together to raise funds to assist that employee in need, and a formal program was developed to assist employees facing difficult, unexpected circumstances. Assistance has brought relief to many employees in need and is sure to positively impact the lives of many more to come.
Awards and recognition
We believe that employees should be recognized for their special skills, talents and commitment to service. In addition to acknowledging good deeds and exceptional performance throughout the year, Sun Health hosts a special annual Employee Recognition Presentation to recognize employees for their longevity with the organization and their outstanding contributions. At this event, employees enjoy a nice meal, good company and a spirited presentation by the senior leadership team in honor of our longtime employees and those who have achieved distinction in service, initiative, growth, and innovation.
Education – scholarships, tuition reimbursement
At Sun Health, employees are eligible for funding to support their educational ambitions. Employees enjoy up to $2,000 each year in tuition reimbursement for classes at any accredited institution. In addition, employees are also invited to apply for funds through campus scholarship programs, coordinated and fundraised by Senior Living residents who are passionate about seeing employees succeed and grow.
A job at Sun Health can mean a career for life. It is not uncommon for employees to start off in entry level positions, and later be promoted to key leadership roles.
