arizona nonprofitR. Jack Stephenson has been elected chairman of the board for Arizona nonprofit Sun Health Services for the fiscal year beginning July 1.

Stephenson, a resident of Sun City West, has a rich history of civic involvement, serving as president of both the Sun City West Rotary Club and the Briarwood Country Club in 2011. He previously served as vice chairman of the Sun Health Services Board, and has been active on a number of board committees as well as the Sun Health Foundation Board. Continue reading

Sun Health Community Education Presents Ongoing Health Talks in August

Surprise, Ariz. (July 22, 2013) – The Sun Health Community Education Series presents free ongoing health and wellness programs on a variety of health care, healthy living and personal and financial safety topics focused on seniors. Events occur several times each month at locations across the West Valley and are presented as a community service. Events with less than 10 reservations are subject to cancellation. Help a Foster Kid Start the School Year With a New Backpack & School Supplies

SHINE (Sun Health Involvement Never Ends) is partnering with OCJ Kids (Opportunity, Community and Justice for Kids) to purchase back packs and school supplies for foster children living in Surprise.

A $20 donation will sponsor a brand new backpack filled with needed school supplies for a foster child. Checks can be made out to the “Sun Health Foundation” and are tax-deductible. Give individually or pool funds with friends or coworkers.

Surprise’s Patricia Lewis Finnell now chairs the Sun Health Foundation Board of Trustees. An Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE), Finnell currently serves as senior professional-in-residence at Arizona State University’s Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation.
