Each month, almost 1,000 new children enter Arizona’s foster care system, which is already overflowing with more than 14,000 young people, many seeking a safe family environment. There is an urgent need for more foster parents but there are many other ways to help kids in foster care that don’t require as big of a commitment. Some of these volunteer opportunities include:
- Volunteering for a foster care or adoption agency
- Mentoring a child in foster care
- Tutoring a child in foster care
- Serving as a court-appointed advocate
- Helping repair bicycles for foster kids
