Consistent
with our mission as a community-based, non-profit
healthcare provider, Sun Health is one of
the west Valley’s leading providers
of charitable services. These services include
direct patient care as well as a variety
of community service programs to help meet
the needs of area residents and visitors.
Charitable patient care can include emergency,
urgent and acute services for those with
limited incomes. For Medicare beneficiaries
who meet income guidelines, the Sun Health
C.A.R.E. program allows for reduction/elimination
of hospital co-payments/deductibles. In
addition, many patients receiving obstetrical
services through the network are AHCCCS
beneficiaries who otherwise would have limited
or no access to needed care.
Examples of how our non-profit network supplements
community needs include, but are not limited
to: presentations of health-education classes
and support groups, health screenings, community
speaking engagements, support of local “Meals
on Wheels,” a free food-distribution
service as well as vision and legal services
for seniors, extensive volunteer support,
a communitywide flu-shot program, distribution
of health-related publications, operation
of a health-information phone line plus
a website with an online health library
and medication index.
