Martha B. Burruel, education coordinator at the Alzheimer’s Association, Desert Southwest Chapter, will provide tips on ways to respond to challenging behaviors, how to avoid unnecessary arguments and recognize the triggers which may result in challenging interactions through the progression of Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementia’s, and provide techniques for improving communication with individuals with memory loss.
This workshop is recommended for caregivers, friends and family members who are faced with the unique challenges faced of caring for an individual with Alzheimer’s disease.
This free Sun Health Community Education class is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Sun Health Corporate Headquarters Community Room, 14719 W. Grand Ave., Surprise. Space is limited; registration is required by calling 623-455-5633, or by registering online.
