Mandell, a resident of Corte Bella in Sun City West, is a retired executive who has lived in the Northwest Valley since May, 2006. He previously served as the Board’s vice chairman and as chairman of the Board’s Planned Giving Committee.
Mandell’s diversified background includes experience in human resources and career management consulting, including serving as vice president of client services for Right Management in Phoenix and San Francisco. The versatile Mandell also brings more than 37 years of computer and technology experience to the chairmanship.
“Michael’s extensive business experience and passion for the community make him an ideal chairman for the Sun Health Foundation,” explained Ron Guziak, Sun Health Foundation’s president and chief executive officer. “Whether he is working with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies or community organizations, Michael has continuously distinguished himself, raising capital and taking two companies public.”
Mandell’s top three areas of emphasis during his chairmanship are bolstering the Sun Health’s Foundation’s planned giving resources; growing the Foundation’s golf tournament, set for March 10; and contributing to special projects.
“I am excited about participating in the future of the Sun Health Foundation,” Mandell said. “This organization has a significant history of service to the community, and I look forward to contributing to that continued service.”
Community service is nothing new to the Mandell family – Michael previously served as a board member for a non-profit organization, which operated a residential facility for substance abuse users. His wife Robin volunteers for both AARP, teaching a Sun Health Community Education safe driving program, and the Surprise Senior Center.
