Sun Health’s Community Education program meets a vital need for the more than 4,000 West Valley attendees who’ve participated in the program since it re-launched in 2012. Attendees learn about a wide spectrum of health care, healthy living, personal and financial safety topics focused on seniors. Examples of programs include heart health and osteoporosis care, methods for coping with chronic conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), medication management, and consumer scam identification and prevention.
Hosted at venues throughout the West Valley, this free program is in partnership with local medical and senior care experts, Banner Health and the University of Arizona’s College of Pharmacy.
The Sun Health Community Education series:
- Promotes healthy lifestyles,
- Provides information allowing attendees to maintain or improve their independence, and
- Educates the public about research or advances for improving their physical or emotional well-being.
Sun Health is proud to offer its nonprofit Community Education series in partnership with nationally recognized Banner Boswell Medical Center, Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center and Banner Sun Health Research Institute, three facilities receiving annual philanthropic investments from Sun Health Foundation.
