Sun Health, An AZ Health Nonprofit

Sun Health is a long-standing Arizona nonprofit and community partner championing healthy living and superior health care in the West Valley of metropolitan Phoenix. Sun Health provides philanthropic resources for area health care, comprehensive senior living options and signature programs leveraging technology to enhance health and wellness services — both within and outside hospital walls. For 50 years, Sun Health has embraced a rich history of serving the community as an Arizona 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Generous donations and a volunteer force of more than 500 enabled us to raise more than $300 million for multi-hospital expansions, internationally recognized research, and the area’s best health care.

Sun Health champions healthy living, research and superior health care.

Vision Statement:

Sun Health is a leading advocate for healthy living.

Sun Health Senior Living

As an AZ nonprofit, Sun Health owns and operates three out of the fourteen Life Care retirement communities in Arizona, each with distinct characteristics and amenities: Grandview Terrace in Sun City West, La Loma Village in Litchfield Park and The Colonnade in Sun City Grand / Surprise. These communities offer unparalleled independent housing options, resort-style amenities and superior health and rehabilitation facilities.

As Life Care communities, Sun Health Senior Living allows you to make the most important investment ever—an investment in your future. Life Care gives you freedom of choice and greater predictability in future health care costs. When you invest in your future through Life Care, you are guaranteed lifetime access to health care—no matter the need—all provided within a community you love.

Today, Sun Health Foundation serves as the philanthropic link between the community and the health care facilities it supports: Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers and the Banner Sun Health Research Institute.

Additionally, the support raised through the Foundation is the driving force behind the Sun Health Community Wellness programs and plays a key role in program development and capital expansions at Sun Health’s senior living communities.

Sun Health Community Wellness

At Sun Health, we believe programs fostering health and wellness outside the hospital setting are just as important as those within. It is our mission to continue to develop and implement community-based health and wellness programs that are leading the industry, such as our Care Transitions, Medication Management and Memory Care Navigator programs, as well as the Center for Health & Wellbeing.

As the nation’s health care system becomes more challenging to navigate, programs promoting personal responsibility for one’s health are becoming more critical. Aligning with our service areas, our programs cater mainly to those 55 and over by giving them the support, guidance and resources to transition from the hospital setting, cope with chronic health issues, and better understand and manage their overall health and wellbeing.
