At La Loma Village, employees can apply for academic scholarships. They’re given this opportunity because the residents at the community voluntarily give to the Scholarship Fund at La Loma Village. After employees apply for the scholarship, the committee at the community then screens and selects the scholarship recipients.
Residents are pleased with the opportunity to give back to the staff, and they are honored to have the opportunity to advance their skills and continue their education. Thus far, the impact of this fund has been remarkable. In 2017, five scholarships were awarded to qualified employees, totaling $7,298—with 100% of the donations going towards the initiative.
